10 simple and inexpensive gift ideas for baby

Cute outfits, monogram blankets, and 1st baby ornaments make wonderful gifts for baby's first holiday, but there are some simple, inexpensive ideas that baby will enjoy too.

Take it from this mom-of-four, who has realized that less is more when it comes to babies, and they really do delight in the simplest pleasures. Here is a list of our family favorites:

  1. Wrapping Paper and Boxes: Babies just love wrapping paper and boxes, so you can wrap toys they already have or even cooking utensils (wooden spoon). For younger babies, let them watch you or their siblings open gift- a win-win for everyone!
  2. Tissue Box: Let them go to town on the tissue box and give them the satisfaction of pulling out every tissue without worries! A more eco-friendly version would be silk scarfs in a reuseable wipes box.
  3. Chew Toy: My kids loved a good small chew toy, and the RaZbaby RazBerry silicone teether was a favorite in my household but there are tons of options on the market now!
  4. Crinkle Toy: This is a must for car rides, although it can get a little tricky when baby falls asleep with it.  Here is a good one you can put in the washing machine.
  5. Baby Utensils: Since everything goes in the mouth, let your baby get used to putting spoons in there (with adult supervision). They are so easy to wash too as they are most likely dishwasher safe. This momma-owned brand has utensils with a minimalist design.
  6. Oball Classic Ball: This easy-to-hold ball will provide baby with hours and hours of fun!
  1. Lullaby Melting Balm Cleanser: Our sweet cleanser is perfect for newborns and 1-year-olds alike. New babies love the pre-bath massage and older babies enjoy seeing the balm transform into a milk. The travel-size makes a great stocking stuffer!
  2. Night Light Star Projector Twilight Turtle Classic: This magical toy makes you feel like you are under the stars and acts as a nice night light.
  3. Rockabye Baby Albums: After a long day, these familiar tunes will soothe your mind. The Beatles and Elton John ones are our go-tos.
  4. The Gift of Music: The youngest babies love music, quite honestly they like the same songs over and over. My family is a fan of Elizabeth Mitchell's folk and classic songs.

What are you gifting your baby this holiday season? Let me know if there are some family favorites that are on this list!
