Our ingredients are not only the highest quality in the industry (organic, non-GMO), but they are also extracted with the highest quality methods (virgin, cold-pressed and supercritical CO2 extracted).
These oils are extracted by first pressed and do not undergo any chemical refining processes. Refining processes can include removal of color, scent and unsaponifiables (to improve shelf life and consistency of oils). Unrefined oils, however, retain the majority of their nutritional value, which benefits hair and skin.
Cold-pressed oils are oils that have been extracted in a controlled temperature setting below 120 F. Cold pressed oils retain most of their subtle flavor, color and nutritional value, which is then passed on to your hair and skin. Cold-pressed oils also have aromas that resemble the fruit or seed; they’re earthy, herbal or fruity. Processed oils smell bland and, at times, burnt. Since we used cold-pressed oils, they retain their naturally pleasant aroma, and when we use essential oils it’s only for aromatic benefits.
This is the cleanest form of extraction and yields the purest result. Oils are are extracted using CO2 (carbon dioxide) gas under pressure at ambient temperatures. Once the oil is extracted from the plant material, the CO2 is simply returned to its gaseous state by lowering its pressure, allowing the gas to quickly and completely dissipate, leaving the just the extract. CO2 extracts contain more elements of the original plant than any other form of extraction.
